Please join us for Do Tell! An Event to Benefit the Evanston Dance Ensemble. Hear true stories from the lives of our storytellers … true stories, yes, although perhaps sprinkled with the embellishments, exaggerations, and creative reconstruction of lapsed memories that we all use every day.
Our storytellers range in experience from first-timers to long-time professionals and all will draw you in as they engage in this age-old practice of sharing, entertaining, and community building.
The Evanston Dance Ensemble’s mission is to create inventive performances and programs of the highest quality, to nurture the power and artistry of talented young dancers, and to reflect the diversity of our community by fostering inclusivity, collaboration, and creative expression.

The Moth is dedicated to finding intriguing people to tell inspired stories. At The Moth StorySLAM, those people find us. On this night, using words as weapons, they compete to determine The Moth’s Chicago GrandSLAM Story Champion.

Do Not Submit Andersonville takes place in in the upstairs room of one of the city's most revered taverns, known for its unparalleled beer list and excellent food. Arrive at 7:00 to sign up for a spot, and when your name is called, you will get 7 minutes on stage to tell any story you'd like. (Late arrivals can sign up as long as there are spots still available. The event ends at 9:30.)
21+ allowed entry.
No experience necessary to participate.
Drinks and food will be available for purchase. Arrive early for dinner before, or bring them upstairs to enjoy.

In September, we debut with "Now It's Folk'n Personal." Come enjoy classic folk/fairy/mythological/biblical stories told in the style of first person Moth slam style stories.
Will it be transcendent? Will we crash and burn? Only one way to find out.
Our intrepid inaugural cast features Rebecca Anderson, Jitesh Jaggi, Aaron Potts, Francesca Sobrer, and Scott Whitehair.
Dining available downstairs from 5:00 on. Drinks and food can be brought upstairs to the performance space.

The theme is 7 Deadly Sins: Why are some sins "deadly"? And what does that say about all the other sins - are they somehow kinda ok? Find out this month as tellers explore the Seven Deadly Sins: stories about Greedy frat boys, Slothful grease monkeys, Wrathful pastors, Lusty widows, Envious girlfriends, Prideful scholars, Gluttonous “farmers” and, because we have 8 tellers: Deceitful teens. Then you decide: what’s deadly and what’s just…human?
